Getting started

Booking and visit basics.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You can book an initial consultation directly. If what you describe looks like it belongs with your GP, your dentist, or another practitioner, Dr Sam Johnson (Chiropractor) will tell you that rather than book you in anyway.

What happens at the initial consultation?

Dr Sam Johnson (Chiropractor) takes your history, assesses your presentation, and discusses whether cold laser therapy may be appropriate for you. Where possible, treatment is provided on your first visit.* The decision is always yours.

How much is the initial consultation?

The initial consultation is $99. Standard visits are $120. Fees are current as at August 2026 and are reviewed periodically. See the full pricing page for the money detail in one place.

Do you sell treatment packages?

No. Adelaide Cold Laser does not sell treatment packages, prepaid bundles, or lock-in plans. Each visit is paid for at the time. Progress is reviewed regularly, and care continues only while it is justified by how you are responding.

Can I call instead of booking online?

Yes. If online booking is not the right path for you, call (08) 8297 5277. You can also send a message from the contact page.

All care is provided subject to clinical assessment and individual suitability. Individual responses to treatment vary.

Honest boundaries

Suitability and care expectations.

No website can decide suitability for you. Assessment comes first, and other care pathways stay respected.

Will cold laser therapy be appropriate for me?

That depends on your presentation and assessment. Dr Sam Johnson (Chiropractor) can discuss whether cold laser therapy may be appropriate for you. Booking a consultation does not mean care is required, and cold laser is not suitable for everyone.

Will cold laser therapy replace my GP, dentist, physiotherapist, podiatrist, or other health provider?

No. Cold laser therapy should not replace other health care where that care is needed. The right pathway depends on the person, the condition, and the clinical context. If another practitioner is the better first step, you will be told that plainly.

Will I know how I will respond before starting?

No. Research can help inform discussion, but individual responses vary and cannot be predicted from a web page. Evidence does not mean every person will respond the same way.

Do you make fixed treatment plans from the website?

No. The website does not set fixed visit numbers, frequency, or timeframes. Those questions belong in assessment and review, and the decision to continue or stop remains yours.

Does it hurt?

For most people there is very little to feel. The handpiece rests on the skin, and there are no needles and nothing is broken. Some people notice a mild warmth. If anything is uncomfortable, say so and it stops. Cold laser is generally well tolerated, though it is not suitable for everyone, and individual responses vary.

Do I have to have chiropractic care as well?

No. Cold laser is its own service here and you are welcome to come for that alone. If the assessment suggests something else may suit your situation better, we will tell you what and why. The decision is always yours.

What is covered on the site

Conditions and page routes.

Which condition pages are in the first Adelaide Cold Laser rebuild?

The first rebuild includes pages for knee osteoarthritis, TMJ or jaw pain, chronic neck pain, plantar fasciitis, frozen shoulder, and tennis elbow. Start from the conditions overview if you are not sure which page applies.

What if my musculoskeletal concern is not listed?

Contact the clinic to ask whether a consultation is an appropriate next step. A missing page does not mean cold laser is suitable or unsuitable. Other health concerns should be discussed with the relevant health professional.

Do the condition pages promise results?

No. The condition pages explain assessment, evidence context, and suitability. They do not promise that a person will respond to cold laser therapy. Research suggests possible benefit in some presentations; individual responses vary.

Where should I start if I am not sure which page applies?

Start with the conditions overview, or book a consultation if you would rather talk through your situation directly. You can also call (08) 8297 5277.
